1. What criteria are required for enrollment through ilearnOhio?

  1. The student must attend an Ohio high school or be homeschooled with an Ohio high school of residence.
  2. School personnel or a parent must register the student online.
  3. The district or school enrolling the student shall award the student credit for successful completion of the course.
  4. Student must have met the prerequisite or other requirements.

2. How do I search for courses?
Search for Online Courses. You can search by subject, course title, description, course level, or course provider. You can even search by when a course is offered.

3. How do I register a student in a course?

  1. Go to Search for Online Courses.
  2. Click the "START YOUR SEARCH" button
  3. Choose the course of interest.
  4. Click the PRE-REG (preregistration) button to begin the registration process.
  5. Print the Code of Conduct agreement to give to the student.
  6. After the student agrees to the Code of Conduct, complete the preregistration form.
  7. Once verified, you will receive further registration instructions based on the course provider selected

4. Are there specific course registration dates?
Each course provider handles course registration differently. Some course providers have specific times when students may enroll in their courses, whereas other course providers have a continuous rolling enrollment period. Please read the enrollment requirements for the course you select.

5. May a student take more than one course at a time through ilearnOhio?
A student may take one or more courses through ilearnOhio.

6. How many students may I enroll in a course at one time?
Unless otherwise stated by the course provider, there are no restrictions about the number of students who may enroll in a course at one time. Please note that you must process the registration for each student separately.

7. What criteria are used to determine student eligibility for an AP course fee waiver?

  1. The student must attend an Ohio high school or be homeschooled with an Ohio school of residence.
  2. A school official must register the student through ilearnOhio.
  3. The district or school (or school of residence for homeschooled students) enrolling the student shall award the student credit for successful completion of the course.

8. How many fee waivers may a student receive?
A student may receive a one-year-long AP course fee waiver or a one-semester AP course fee waiver for AP courses taken through ilearnOhio as long as monies are available.

9. My school does not currently offer Advanced Placement courses. Will my school need to do anything if a student takes an Advanced Placement course through ilearnOhio?

  1. A school must contact AP Services at 877-274-6474 for an active six-digit school code in order to order and administer exams and receive students' exam scores.
  2. A school needs to designate an AP coordinator who takes primary responsibility for organizing and administering that school's AP program.
  3. A school principal needs to complete an AP Participation Form and a participation survey and provide other information annually.
  4. Through the AP Course Audit (www.collegeboard.com/apcourseaudit), schools will be able to indicate which authorized online/distance learning courses are offered at each school.
  5. A school can review the AP Course Ledger to ensure that all AP courses have current College Board–approved certification.
  6. A school can find important dates for Advanced Placement listed at AP Central (www.collegeboard.com/apcentral).
